PsalmsPSALMSPsalms
Fifty-seven while he was hiding in the cave, fifty-Nine when Saul surrounded the house. What the hell was David thinking? He should have been running, fighting, shinnying down the outer wall on a rope of twisted bedsheets. Instead he wrote - three as he fled from Absalom. (I wonder what his followers thought when he took out his harp as he ran?) Should I blame him? After all, these poems are nothing but Psalms I wrote when I had more pressing concerns - wasting time with idiotic poetry while falling behind on Tolstoy.
